Analysing Family Relationship through TRON: LEGACY movie

It's getting really HOT here in Japan these days. I prefer winder because I can get rid of coldness by putting cloths on, but this hot temperature,,, once you became naked, you have nothing to take off anymore!

Well, anyway, as I said, I'm going to talk about family relationship through the Disney Movie Tron Legacy today!

Have you guys seen Tron Legacy movie?

Well, here's the synopsis and trailer for the movie for those who haven’t watched.

[Warning!! This synopsis contains the spoiler of the movie. If you don’t wanna know the ending, don’t read!]

     Kevin Flynn is a CEO of the game company ECOM, and created the hit game series TRON. His son Sam Flynn liked listening to Kevin’s story about the virtual world the Grid, which appears in the TRON game, and Sam was dreaming of visiting there someday. However, one day in 1989, Kevin Flynn just disappeared and only his best friend, Alan Bradley, who established ECOM with Kevin Flynn, was insisted that Kevin had gone to the Grid. In present time, Sam Flynn grew up to be an adult and Alan tells him that he got a call from Kevin on his pocket bell and makes Sam visit the old game arcade that his father used to visit.

     At the game arcade, he finds his father’s secret study room about TRON and he finds himself also is transferred and trapped in the Grid. The Grid is a virtual world consisted with two races of people, users or programs, created by Sam’s father and it used to be ruled by him. However, after Kevin’s virtual alter ego, Clu revolted against Kevin, Kevin is trapped in the Grid and cannot make it home.

     At the Grid, Sam involves in the disc game and was almost to be killed by the most popular program Rinzler, but when Sam bleeds, Rinzler figures out Sam does not belong to this virtual world and take him to his boss Clu. When he saw Clu for the first time, Sam thinks he finally found his father because Clu has the very same face with his father. But soon Sam finds out his father is trapped by him and he goes on a journey to find his father. Soon he finds his father Kevin Flynn, and both Kevin and Sam Flynn try to go back to the reality, but there are followers of Clu, who is conspiring to get out of the Grid instead of them and conquer not only the Grid, but also the reality.

     While Sam, Kevin and their new company Quorra was running away from Clue, Rinzler, who supposed to be the closest follower of Clue, sacrifices himself to help their escape saying “I fight for users.” and Kevin notices Rinzler is Tron, who was his best friend of and co-creator of the Grid but sacrificed himself to save Kevin when the Clue’s rebellion had been occurred. At the end, Kevin sacrifices himself and destroys the Grid to stop Clu and let Sam go.

Well, did you get vague image of this movie? You really should see this movie. It was very beautiful both in the visual and story aspects!

Hello, people! My name is Eriko Yabe. This is the first post of my blog "UseYourMagic by Eriko.Y". I know it is too sudden, but can you guess what is the "magic" I want you and myself to use?? It's the magic to analyze things around you,especially what we are really interested in. I'm a student of the university in Tokyo, and I'm majoring Media Literacy. I started studying media just 2 years ago when I entered my university. Though I wasn't mean to study media particularly, since my home class professor was one of the experts in media, my classmates and I had to study media anyway.haha Fortunately (or unfortunately?*wink), she, my professor draw me in the world of media analysis and once I got to know the new way to see the world, I cannot put off the glasses of critical thinking analysis way. Critical Thinking- is not only the way of thinking just to criticize our surroundings badly, but also we can reassure their excellence by criticizing them once! Since I really like Disney, grew up in the 15 minutes away by bicycles from Tokyo Disney Land, am working for them currently, and was believed in that: someday my prince will come, I was so shocked and cried when my professor told me that Disney Princesses effect bad on children and they are all about making money. But through analyzing my favorite Disney "critically", sometimes with tears in my eyes(lol) I found that what my professor and other media experts are saying is true, but also Disney Princesses are having really positive change in their newer animations;) hehehe So I feel like I can fight back against those experts as one of the fans and friends of Disney Princesses.lol This blog will be about anything but what I'm really interested in, and I will analyze and think about them through critical thinking way with using some analyze techniques by media experts that I've learned in several lectures I've been taking for 2 years. UseYourMagic, to enrich your life, analyze critically to have the real understanding of what  you really like, and get to love them more in real life!! I am not a native speaker of English nor studied English abroad. My English is PURELY MADE IN JAPAN. So you may feel difficulty when you read my English. But I'll try my best, and I'm really looking forward to explore new world with all of you guys.  If you have any comment, especially, I would love to get some thoughts that are different from or against for my analysis, please leave me some messages for each articles so that we all can discuss!
